About Me

I used to be a UNIX systems admin, but got tired of the corporate games. Now I work for myself. I'm still good with the computers, though (grin).

What?

You have all heard it, I'm sure. You, know, like, whatever!

I don't buy whatever. I don't sell it, either. I will not abuse the TOS by using the vulgar language that expresses "it" so well. But, you know what I mean.

The broadcast and print media are full of "it", too. The corporate world wallows in "it", then tries to sell "it" as perfume. They treat people like mushrooms, keeping them in the dark and feeding "it" to them.

I'm sure that I have a little of "it" in me, too, but I try to keep "it" to myself, sometimes unsuccessfully. I don't mind, much, when people point out those failures, but I mind a lot when I let their pile of "it" get my goat.

I think the best response to "it" is "what?" Like in the caveman commercial. I have to keep reminding myself, though, that the commercial is full of "it".

I once read in an advice column that the best response to an impertinent question is "Why do you ask?"

The implication of "What?" is, or should be, "Why do you say something so obviously absurd?"

My advice to everyone is to start using this approach whenever you are confronted with "it."

I say this simply because it is impossible to win a battle of wits against an unarmed opponent.

Just saying "what?" will keep them busy and, possibly, out of my hair.

And, it might get this blog on the map!

Thanks!
